Featured in our “bamboo rod restoration” videos this Cabinet scraper and 0000 steel wool make quick work of removing old varnish from a bamboo blank.

The made in England scraper comes pre-sharpened and will hold an edge for multiple rods. It can also, when necessary, be sharpened with a burnisher.

The steel wool is a brand we have been using for years. It is perfect for removing any fine particles of varnish and will leave behind a perfectly smoothsurface that is ready for finish.
